The Department of " Crop system, Forestry and Environmental Sciences aims to promote the highest interaction among scientists of different specialities in the general organization of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
The Department was established by the Rectoral Decree No. 320/1991 of April 26th, 1991, with the denomination of "Dipartimento di Produzione Vegetale" and the participation of previous existing Institutes of "Agronomia", "Ortofloricoltura", "Arboricoltura","Selvicoltura", and "Chimica Agraria"
On May 12nd, 2004, by the Rectoral Decree No. 221/2004, The Department was named as above with the acronym (DIPSISTEMI).
From the establishment to the present day took turns as Director of the Department the following professors: Emanuele Tarantino, Cristos Xiloyannis, Antonio S. De Franchi and V. miccolis. The Department of Crop systems , Forestry and Environmental Sciences offers a teaching and scientific support to 22 doctoral and 6 post doc students on different topics concerning precision agriculture, plant nutrition, and environmental disease.
Department Staff consists of 9 professors, 10 associate professors, 6 researchers, 7 technicians, 4 administrative employers.
